World Bank Africa Fellowship Summary
The World Bank Africa Fellowship is for young talented African nationals completing or recently completed their Ph.D., with work focused on the World Bank’s mission. Since its inception, the fellowship program has been very successful, creating a strong pipeline of young African talent interested in a career in development, within international institutions, African governments, think tanks, and academia. The program will provide selected fellows with a six-month placement at WBG offices in Washington D.C. or country offices to gain firsthand knowledge of WBG operations.

World Bank Africa Fellowship Requirements
To be eligible for the World Bank Fellowship;
- Be a recent Ph.D. graduate (within three years of completion) or be enrolled in the last year of the Ph.D. program.
- Possess excellent command of English, both written and verbal.
- Have strong quantitative and analytical skills.
- Be 32 years of age or younger by January 1, 2027.
