Most students have always wanted to study abroad but do not have enough resources to fund their studies. Duke University offers some of the best scholarships for students both international and domestic. Duke University is a well-known private research university located in Durham, North Carolina, United States.
The institute was founded by Methodists and Quakers in 1838 in the present-day city of Trinity before moving to Durham in 1892. In 1924, the school was named after Washington Duke who was the father of tobacco and electric power industrialist James Buchanan Duke in honor of him.
Duke University Scholarships
Duke University, known to be one of the prestigious universities in the United States offers scholarships to undergraduate, graduate, and post-graduate courses and people can apply in many disciplines. Some scholarships available at Duke University include:
1. Alumni Endowed Undergraduate Scholarship
The first on the scholarship list today is the Alumni Endowed Undergraduate scholarship for freshmen or undergraduate students. The scholarship was established by DAA in 1979 to honor the achievements of the children and grandchildren of Duke alumni who have gained admission to Duke.

The scholarship covers full tuition fees for four years or eight semesters of undergraduate study including stipends for the summer study away program. The award is given based on the academic achievement of students, leadership skills, and other merits outside the school. Scholarship recipients must also show that they need financial aid to qualify to get a scholarship.
2. Trinity Scholarships
The second scholarship at the University of Duke is the Trinity scholarship. This scholarship has been funded by Duke’s alumni in the Carolinas to honor their alma mater. The award is given on a rotating basis so a lot of students are given financial aid on a large scale who are residents in Carolinas.
3. Clem and Hayes Clement Trinity Scholarship
The Clem and Hayes Trinity Scholarships are given to North Carolina students who have gained admission in their first year to the Trinity College of Arts and Sciences.
4. Herman W. Bernard Trinity Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to students who when applying for the scholarship are legal residents of High Points areas like Archdale, Jamestown, the community of Trinity and unincorporated areas of Guildford, Randolph, Davidson and Forsyth counties which is adjacent to the High Point.
5. A. J Tannenbaum Trinity Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to students who are a resident of North Carolina with first choices being Guilford County residents.
